Image for Upload

All images must be stored as JPG files. This is probably the most common format for pictures, and all picture editors can save images in this format.

JPG images are compressed to reduce the file size. Many images can be saved to files that are less than 100 KB without noticably degrading image quality. It would be very unusual that an individual image would need to be larger than 300KB. We suggest that you try various compression settings until you are satisfied both with the picture quality and the upload speed. Some image editors allow you to view the image quality and file size as you change compression level. We recomend using that feature if you image editor provides it.

As an example, two images are displayed below. The first image is about 90 KB; the second is about 17 KB. There is very little difference in image quality, but the second image will upload about 5 times as fast.
